I survived the winter in Maine, only to melt away this summer! Just kidding. I'm in the air conditioning finishing Seraphina's Revolution. YES! I'm still working on it. There has been a few delays, I got married, we're buying a house, and I've started working full time again so nights and weekends (when I'm not watching my step kid) are when I get get down to business.
Honest truth time, we are probably looking at September 2018 for release now. I KNOW! I'm upset too. There's just a few kinks I need to work out in the pacing before I can release to my editor. I want this final book to be kick @$$ for you guys for waiting so long.
I will leave you with a little bit of a tease, here's a scene from the upcoming Seraphina's Revolution! (And the awesome cover in case you missed it!)
With a cat like stealth he approaches her from behind. His arms extend and wrap around her neck. She jumps in surprise, but she doesn’t hesitate in bending forward and tossing him to the floor.
“Are you trying to test me Nathanael?” she circles him beneath her.
“Dummies can’t fight back,” he musters as he leaps to his feet in one motion.
“Are you calling yourself a dummy?”
“Ouch, no faith,” he circles her back before running at her. She bows tossing him over her back once more. On the floor, he twists swinging his legs out and kicks hers out from under her. Seraphina back flips before touching the floor. Wow, she has been getting better with all this practice. He climbs to his feet and they fly toward each other. Punches are thrown and blocked until their arms are locked behind each other.
“You're strong.” He comments.
“I’ve learned how to fight without using power.” Her eyes stare him down and pin him in place.
“Er,” he struggles against her before finishing, “that’s ridiculous, your power is what makes you, you.”
“My power makes my other senses weak. Plus, it hurts people. I need to learn to survive without it.”
Nate has broken out in a sheen sweat coating his whole body and his arms begin to shake. Seraphina is a lot stronger than him that much is embarrassingly apparent.
“Your power does not make you weak.” He readjusts his hands, struggling the entire time, “Your power is your greatest asset. Your biggest fault is your heart.”
“And your biggest fault is that you always play by the rules.” She smirks.
But it was too late, Seraphina had already shifted under his arms and her knee rises between his legs. Pain. Terrible pain that extends all the way up into his gut echoes through him. Nate collapses to the basement floor grabbing his man parts.
Seraphina’s hand covers her muffled giggles.
“Oww, why are you laughing? This is so painful.” Nate tosses and turns on the floor the pain rising into his abdomen. It feels as if his whole insides have shifted, his head grows light and nausea starts to set in.
“I’m sorry…” she gets out between more giggles. “But, I was just proving my point.”
“I …” he struggles swallowing down bile, “never in my centuries of fighting have ever been hit here.” He whimpers.
“That’s your problem, Demons don’t play by the rules. You’re going to need to learn how to fight dirty Nate.”

Excited for the Seraphina Series book three release? Here's a little sneak peek to hold you over:
The road winds once more and she allows her mind to bend as well. Sera. God how long has it been since she’s seen her? For as long as she can remember she has seen her every single day and now it’s been an entire year since she’s set eyes on her. Ever since that day she showed up in her house in the middle of the night she’s been afraid for her best friend. Things are worse than she led her to believe. She can always tell when Sera is lying to her. She always has some bogus story about backpacking through Europe or some crap her parents may believe, but not her. Suddenly, she gasps. A black cat dashes across the road in front of her before disappearing into the woods on the other side.
Keep an eye out for omens.
The words echo through her as she feels a bead of sweat drip down her spine. She shivers and shakes her head to recover from it. No, she is not going to allow herself to think about that, not now. Not when she’s finally going to see her best friend again. She wants to confront her. She plans to get Sera to spill her guts to her. She’s finally going to talk about the day in the mall when she looked like she saw a ghost and then drove back to the psychic. She went back there and spoke to that ‘Amazing Anna.’ Even though she refused to tell her anything about Sera. The psychic did choose to tell her some things. She said Amanda would be safer staying away. Apparently, she’s not that good of a psychic otherwise she would’ve known that would never happen. Anna did tell her that her life would have great meaning, what ever that means. Her life would be a turning point, but the way she said it made her believe it wouldn’t be for her. She never touched on her future like most. That was all she said before she ushered her out telling her to stay away from Seraphina. That my best friend has to overcome some things before and to not get involved, she can still hear her soft voice to warn her. That was over a year ago. She hoped that was enough time because she can’t stand it any longer.
“Oh crap,” Amanda mutters to herself before she veers the car around sharply, almost missing the turn down the gravel road. “This place is in the middle of nowhere,” she scoffs tossing the invitation into the back seat of her little black sedan. A sigh escapes her as she tries to calm the butterflies in her stomach. Just follow the road. The back of the card said. Her mind wanders then, what if she’s changed? What if she has other Angel friends now? No, this is Sera we are talking about. Her Sera. Her best friend in the entire planet… or is she? Ever since she’s met this Nate character she hasn’t exactly been her Sera anymore. She’s been his.
The trees finally break and the picture before her makes her suck in a breath. It looks like something out of Lumber Jack Times. Holy Crap! The log cabin of all log cabins stands before her. So, while she’s been stuck working at the office alone working over time to nab some extra cash, Sera has been cooped up with some smoking hot Angel in this gorgeous cabin. Life just isn’t fair.
She slips out of the car and slams the door behind her. Definitely not fair, Amanda thinks as her eyes scan the vast lawn and forest before her. The only thing that echoes in her mind:
Keep an eye out for omens.
The black cat flashes through her mind again. It came out of nowhere and just ran straight across the road like it didn’t even care about the car. The last sentence the Amazing Anna ever said to her kept her up for days. It haunts her dreams and she didn’t have the heart to tell Sera with all that has been going on. She likes to keep their phone conversations to an upbeat level because sometimes she can hear the worry and self doubt in her voice sometimes. It’s a sentence that doesn’t make any sense to her. There is no way it’s humanly possible, but as she’s recently learned sometimes things go beyond what is humanly possible. The last sentence the psychic said to her was:
Beware of the black eyes.

There's much controversy and opinions over the new Kindle Unlimited and updates. Here's my experience:
Since I self published my first book back in December 2013, I have seen that most (if not all) of my monthly sales were on Amazon. So, I made the much debated decision to pull out of Barnes & Noble and Smashwords and enroll in the KDP Select Program for the three month period.
From that point on, I saw more borrows that sales. I allowed it to continue to renew. But, when they announced the new changes as of 7/1/15 -- ( Changes such as Pay-by-page and not per sale and the fact that I wouldn't have an accurate count of sales) I became skeptical like the rest of the authorship. So, I performed my own experiment.
I didn't renew my KDP Select contract as of 7/28 and even lowered my prices. Here's what happened:
- I re-published on B&N & Smashwords -- Sales were a whopping -- zero
- Even with the same amount of social media presence and email blast on my part AND a lowered price, I sold FOUR books. FOUR frieken books! An all time low for me.
Needless to say, I barely made it to the 15th before re-enrolling in KDP Select.
Yes, KDP Select has it's disadvantages like exclusivity to only Amazon. But, honestly that's where I have the most of my sales anyway. Every month, I have triple the amount of borrows than sales. Additionally, when I received my monthly statement for July I surprisingly found that I earned more on the per-page changes than I did the previous month when it was based on actual sales. (my book is about 90k words)
That is just my experience with KDP Select. I have personally found it to be very beneficial. Kindle deal days have helped put me in the bestsellers category on multiple occasions. And, I find that readers are more likely to read a book by a new author if its at little to no cost to them. Kindle Unlimited has been a win/win for me. My only regret is losing potential royalties for those 15 days I wasn't enrolled.
Feel free to tell me how KDP is working for you.
My first book signing at the Mamaroneck Library was a great success! Thank you to everyone who came out to support me :) Check out the photos !
